I feel so defeated trying to grow in my career. The feedback how I answered a 3-4 part question. Started off good but then I start talking in citcles. Giving this ADHDER a 3-4 part question is a non stop roller coaster ride😭 I feel like throwing in the towel.

Have patience with yourself.

Maybe consider bringing a notebook and pen and ask if they mind if you take notes. Then, you can list out the 3-4 parts and maybe even bullet out some of what you want to say. That way, you can refer to your notes to help stay on track.

Plus, I think asking if you can take notes makes you look super interested and engaged.

Good luck!

💗

Yes, absolutely! Taking notes is so helpful. I always have a small notebook and a pen with me in meetings.

Also, one thing to consider: next time you catch yourself talking in cycles, you can always stop and say something along the lines of “let me pause here for a second. Please tell me, how does this sound so far? / What questions might you have?/ What would you like me to elaborate further on?..”

You’ve got this :)

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.

Googling ADHD today (I’m having a distracted day) and super frustrated because I’m realizing that I was likely misdiagnosed as depressed for years. Found you tube channel ADDitutde magazine. Several really good presentations with recent developments Thought I’d share.

It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. Anyone here struggle with drinking enough water every day? Growing up, I drank a lot of soda and fruit juices but since 2020, I’ve been trying to be one of those people who always has a water bottle. They say you drink some when you first wake up but I never have a taste for it and then never remember to start drinking until about noon.

I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to limit distractions during the work day and none of it has worked. Working from home has only made it 100 times worse because now I know there are other more interesting things to be distracted by all around me. What do you do to hold focus during working hours? What will get me to be able to work for longer than 35 minutes without getting distracted?
