Not saying this is good practice, there should be formalities with these things at least documentation. But just looking inward had you been at least told or talked about these issues with your boss?
Not sure the size of your company but I know mine for a while didn’t believe in pips or write ups but growth conversations that were documented. It was believed that if you are telling your report enough times to make changes and follow up with that. If they don’t perform to the expectation you set in those conversations and you documented the conversation in your 1on1 docs you can take action. Just saying in general I would not always assume you have to get official slaps on the wrist to get it together.
Aww. I am sorry this happened to you. I won't say this is normal but I have also seen something like this happen before. It sucks, I know.
Sorry this happened to you but unfortunately in customer service, they do this to you due to performance issues. Unfortunately, they expect way too much of us and put high demands on us. Dont give up push forward and you will be successful.
Sounds like you are suffering the consequences of working in a highly disorganized environment. if they can’t even clearly define what your role should be, I'm afraid you are being set up for failure.
This sucks, I'm sorry! Were you given any warning or a conversation about your performance? Do you know what issues you were demoted over? I feel like it's super unreasonable to do this without any warning period. I'd definitely look for new work soon!
