I have heard our HR Director, who is at the top of the food chain in that regard, refer to people in a way that is honestly offensive, but it's only at the level in which you'd report it to HR and not something you can do anything legal about. What the heck would you do in this kind of situation? It's like a corrupt law enforcement experience.

My manager nominated me for judging a small programme happing virtually with two other head of the Department, but when I joined the programme someone from office outside was included for that with director and those two HODs were also not there... I prepared my speech, well dressed up but when hosts announce the name of judges I felt bad... he could have atleast informed me... everytime he does the same kind of thing and than says in corporate sector types of politics happens...

My manager says to serve the full notice period or be labelled absconded. I asked the HR whether I will be labelled as absconded if I agree to buyout the shortfall but they're not replying. What are folks thoughts on nuclear power? I have heard there are many detractors. Before getting into consulting, I was trained to operate a nuclear power plant on a submarine and learned about this excellent source of energy.

The main issues I see with it are the initial upfront costs to setup (with the cheapest generation costs thereafter), and disposal of nuclear waste (which some new technologies are being developed to reuse the waste in a different kind of reactor).

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great!
