I was on adderall before I switched to Vyvanse. I started on 10mg of Vyvanse and currently worked my way up to 40mg which I’m on now. I recently had to move to a different state so had to get a different doctor and her policies were a lot diff than my last doc (i.e she doesn’t prescribe outside of appointments whereas my last doc would prescribe as long as i had an appointment scheduled), so I had to go off of it for 3 weeks. I can tell you when I went from being off of it for 3 weeks to going straight back to the 40mg it took me about as long as I was off of it to readjust back to it. I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks. For me, my body adjusted to it eventually but I definitely feel like the appetite suppression is a lot more present in Vyvanse vs Adderall. But I prefer how my Vyvanse treats my ADHD so I just suffered through it!! My advice would be try to have a protein shake in the morning (this is when my appetite is the lowest) and then honestly while you’re adjusting I just would take what I could get. If something sounded good I’d make sure I’d eat it while I could because if not I just wouldn’t eat
Haha no problem at all. Appreciated the feedback and I see myself a bit here 😅😅all my answers and explanations are most of the time hella long 🙈🙈🙈😅
I’ve been told the weight loss will even out after the first 3-6 months on adhd meds. It’s been about a year for me since first dose, and I’m just now gaining a few pounds back. Hopefully more as time goes on.
Ritalin 10mg 3x daily.
I am currently on Wellbutrin while I wait for my appt to get a full diagnosis. I feel like it helped initially but then I quickly got used to it. So the appetite was suppressed originally and then not after a short time. A friend of mine is on VyVanse and said it's the only one that has helped with the focus so I wonder if you add something along with it, if that wouldn't help to balance things out. That way the suppression could stay and allow you more control over the situation.
What were you taking before vyvanse?
Nothing. This is my first time on meds
Vyvanse has been good for me. My doctor increased my dose recently because it helps me sleep at night if I go higher and prevent my hyperactivity from coming up after 9pm.
So far it's different but I think I like it better than Adderall XR.
I’ve lost some weight since staring adderall but it’s more that I’m not eating enough despite actually remembering to eat.
Gotta pack a bigger lunch
You need to remind yourself to eat. My doctor actually prescribed me a timer to remind me to get up and eat, drink, walk, etc.
