The most talented people I know all struggle massively with imposter syndrome. It doesn’t change what you’re feeling, but know that it’s very normal. Usually it happens to people with high IQ, as they’re more likely to be aware of their shortcomings.
Secondly, for me personally, it’s so dependent on where I work. If it’s a high octane environment with sharp elbows and non-friendly vibes, I am bound to be miserable. I went in-house as a desperate attempt to find something that worked better for me, and thank god I took that leap. Spent the last 8 years in tech and love it. Give it a shot.
Thirdly, if you got some savings, quit or ask for a sabbatical, and go travel. Put your stuff in storage and go to Mexico or South East Asia and you can live for less than a grand a month easily. Might give you the break you need, and some time to figure things out.
Please please look into taking a short term disability / medical leave of absence. Your company will most likely have a policy in place that will let you take time away without sacrificing your entire paycheck or job.
I did it myself a couple years back and I credit that time with giving me what I needed to keep going. Take care of yourself and your future self 🧡
I did this myself and completely agree. It can help you reset and get the help you need. I was worried about how it would impact how others perceived me at work but I was actually promoted while on leave.

This is happening to me. I just had to put my 2 weeks in without a backup plan because it has gotten so bad. I was working between 60-90 hours a week
