How do you know if you're successful?
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

You took a 5 year secondment?? Where?
That’s awesome!
Very client dependent. I had clients that wanted nothing to do with us being in office and clients that wanted everyone in person M-Th every week. Tech being the former and financial services being the latter, which probably isn't a big suprise.
Some teams also try to foster a travel culture and some offices also try to have a majority in-office presence.
Thats about as "it depends" an answer as you'll get. Try to reconnect with folks you worked with before and you'll likely get a more directly relevant response.
This makes sense and quite aligned with my previous innings. Thank you!
