I want to potentially start using cannabis to help me with my anxiety. I live in GA so it’s not legal. How would I get some? Would CBD be as effective?

Nice try HR.

Lol not HR. Just never bought weed besides at a dispensary or smoked/ate whatever my friends had

I'm guessing you are within 1-2 degrees of separation from a reliable source if you asked around in earnest.

CBD helped me a bit with anxiety but low dose indica has honestly made a much bigger difference for me personally.

like

It’s 2020, you can google this and find legitimate sources.

Also assuming you’re in Atlanta. Ask literally any of your local friends.

As someone who has increasingly used cannabis as a crutch for anxiety and the blues over the last 3 years — from occasionally, to once or twice a week, to almost daily — I would caution you against starting.

It can be psychologically addicting — but in a gradual and unnoticeable way — until you try to stop and can’t.

Go to the r/leaves subreddit and read some of the top all time posts to inform yourself.

For anxiety I would encourage you to first try exercise, spending time in nature, supplementing with magnesium chelates, and eating a diet high in quality, nutritious animal foods (avoid vegetable oils, sugar, grains and other processed carbohydrates)

(CBD is fine though)

So, Georgia has started with some medical cannabis laws, but in a very limited sense. Cannabis oils are to be capped at 5% THC and obviously there aren’t dispensaries or anything where you can actually purchase marijuana products yet. If you’re looking for real marijuana, you’re going to have to rely on the ‘traditional market’ in Georgia — or fly to states with recreational marijuana and then fly back.

That said, if you live in Atlanta, marijuana has been decriminalized. Apart from keeping in line with your local ordinances/community guidelines, you shouldn’t have much to worry about if you’re only using small amounts for personal consumption.

CBD, CBN, CBG, and other cannabinoids are widely available and federally legal for consumption. They help a lot of people with anxiety and don’t have the psychoactive effects of THC. I’d recommend Plus Products CBD gummies if you’re just looking to start out.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have further questions. I’m based in Atlanta and support the cannabis industry in legal states.

like

Oh - and I would recommend using full spectrum extracts vs. CBD isolate. That way, you get more of the benefits from other cannabinoids in cannabis.

FWIW CBD has done absolutely nothing for me in gummy, oil, or pill form. I'm generally very sensitive to THC, and I really wanted it to work but it did nothing

like

Alt- go see a therapist and get a prescription legally.

like

Its only me that gets anxiety amplified 100x when smoking weed ?

like

Try cv science gold cbd softgels. Start with one per night. It has less that .03% THC

Correct

Yeah just ask around- somebody will know somebody. I’m in GA right now and an acquaintance of mine hooked me up with a “business” that shipped from Colorado. It’s legal in enough areas now that you shouldn’t have too many difficulties getting it. If you are part of some Amish community and truly don’t know anyone, you can use the “dark web” where there’s basically an amazon for drugs that transacts very professionally (believe it or not). The sellers have an incentive to be professional and reliable since they are rated and reviewed the same way you would when buying pots and pans on Amazon.

CBD is snake oil.

I would stick to CBD (which I find to be effective) rather than going after pot in an illegal state just because it’s much harder to determine what strain you’re getting, and the wrong strain can make your anxiety worse. I like Bolt CBD a lot. If you can get weed though, indica is the move - I would avoid sativa in your case but ymmv

Go around a college campus. Find a college kid and say you’re new to town and trying to find some weed. Repeat until someone gives you a number or hooks you up.

^hard to tell if you’re chill or being sarcastic

Growing body of evidence that cannabis rots your brain.

Citations? Didn’t think so.

Consistent consumption before the brain is fully formed can have detrimental effects on development, but there’s no “brain rot” for adults.

Then again, your brain might not ever be fully formed if you’re working for McKinsey.

It’s stressful at quarter changeovers.
In going back after break, it’s too much of a contrast. I cannot sleep, I wake up in the middle of the night, “for the day”, about 6 nights a week. To stay structured, I go to “Surrender yoga” daily. I’m good to go do 1 more thing after yoga. I feel accomplished. Couching causes anxiety.

I spoke with a recruiter recently about a position in her company and before we even began talking about the job, she asked if I needed an sponsorship, I told her no, I dont need one. But she continued to press on the subject until I had to tell her I was a US citizen. I dont know why, but the whole conversation made me extremely uncomfortable. So my question is, can recruiters ask you about your visa/immigration status even when I told her I didnt need a sponsorship??
