I was found on LinkedIn by a Head of Recruitment. Asked if I would be interested in talking to them. We spoke for awhile, the position itself was not specifically defined but I was told my background and experience would be something they would want. I thought the meeting went very well. 3 weeks nothing - so I send a quick note to check in and I get the hiring committee wants someone that has a background that better fits the needs of the position. Can anyone provide some clarity on this?

Conflicted between both as I believe Cisco has a better brand value and great company to work for. But the offer from Verizon is competitive.

How many billable hours per week is considered at capacity? I’m getting pushback on boundaries I’m setting about additional matters and marketing work from my firm when I’ve been billing 60-75 hours per week for the last 6 weeks, and I’m still behind on my work. I’m reviewing my resume getting ready to start my job search and have a question for recruiters, hiring managers. I’m looking for a role brand-side not agency side. Specialist roles aside, such as digital, when you see someone describing themselves as a “generalist marketer” is this a resume you’d pass on? How unprofessional is it to accept an offer and back out before your start date?

How easy is it for brand strategists to jump to client side? Been trying but feel like the “Marketing Manager / Director” roles require deep operational experience, ergo, not a 100% fit.
