1.5 out of 3 ain't bad for baseball
I think I'm middle of the road as well. Just OK across all three. I find I spend bulk of weekend doing house chores that limit actually spending quality time with family. Thinking of ways to outsource chores on an ongoing basis
I'm 3 for 3. How are you a shit husband? Does your wife work? If she doesn't, that in of itself makes you a 7/10 on the husband score right there
Haha, she does not work and I keep reminding her much she hated it. I am a crappy husband because I don't do a good job of thinking of her. I don't provide the spontaneous compliments or make her feel wanted or pretty.
Hopefully she realizes how lucky she is that you for afford a life of her not working. My wife basically "retired" at 25 when we had our kid....I mean, who else is that lucky?! These women ought to be grateful! Lol
Funny about the flowers...My parents kept getting her flowers for years, despite us telling them to stop. Our fucking cat eats the damned flowers and then throws up somewhere in the house. Giving her flowers is essentially giving her a puke pile to clean up.
BCG1: Do it. I have a cleaner come every other week and it takes a good chunk of weekend stress and annoyances away. Still need to tidy up though. :-)
I don't think that makes you a shit husband sir! At least you're aware. Surprise her with some flowers or something this week to get yourself some points. Or tickets to Ed Sheeran lol
My wife's work actually had a retirement party for her, which was funny. They had one a week prior for her mentor, an EVP who had been with the company for 30+ years. I think they just wanted an excuse to expense a big lunch and have cake.
Lol good ol corporate culture! So yeah you're not a shit husband mate, unless you're verbally abusing her and bringing her down all the time. You sound like a decent enough one to me. 8/10!
Outsourcing as many house chores is the biggest no brainer from my perspective. Those are precious hours especially with young kids; unless doing chores has a meditative aspect you appreciate, outsource it!
I think its ok to think of yourself as a shit husband. Complacency breeds contempt. Always be striving to be better. Fuck the consulting thing tho. This job is not fucking work it. Kudos on the kid raising though. That's the hardest job
