If I have 10 years of experience in a family supply chain management company but no college degree, could I still look for a job in a better company? Or do you think that a college degree is extremely necessary?

I think you will be filtered out at screening in a lot of spots. While a college degree isn't necessary. I think you will have an uphill battle at a large company. A smaller company you will probably have a better shot because they will actually look at your resume rather than having the computer filter you out.

like

That depends more on the company than what usually happens, an experience of 10 years is something very valuable, now you can be hired but the issue of payment is something different, there are companies that take into account the university degree to standardize salaries.

like

In my opinion, if a university degree is necessary, it would be good for you to start a career to improve your chances because a university degree is never too much.

like

Most large companies take professional development into account, experience is important but as you said you come from a smaller company so the experience is not directly proportional to the future employer of the large company.

like

I think that if you are looking to enter a large company, not having a degree will not take you to a very comfortable place, despite having a great experience, you would lack that extra that a university degree gives you.

like

The advancement of the industry marks that if they need an experienced person in the operations manager section, surely you have an opportunity to enter a large company, now if they are looking for another type of related worker, the lack of the title will make it not so easy for them to enter for another position.

like

No. A college degree is not necessary. I've seen many successful people in supply chain succeed without a degree. Good luck and go for it!

Depends on your sector and specific role. Generally speaking, college degrees aren’t everything and your experience should come with a lot of value. You can definitely look for other jobs and highlight projects and accomplishments on resume/interviews. Networking and referrals can be your friend too.

If you can look for work in another company because it is unreal that we give you 100% security that your experience will not be taken into account due to lack of title or vice versa, so do not stop to think that there may be a company that does not take you Take into account because you do not have a title, try it and that's it.

Your 10 years of experience are significant and would give you an advantage in the job market. Companies value real-world experience, and many will be willing to overlook not having a college degree if they are impressed with your work history.

Various certifications or even self-taught skills can help boost your resume and make you more desirable to employers. A college degree may be beneficial but is optional when looking for employment.

It will depend on the type of position you are looking for and the company’s preferences. Many companies value work experience just as much, if not more, than a college degree and may require additional certifications or specialized training. However, your experience could be enough to demonstrate your qualifications.
