I'll be in the dc area for a year and am thinking of buying a condo in Alexandria instead of renting. Questions:
1. Is that area anticipated to keep seeing growth? Boeing and Amazon are both opening major offices around the area, but everyone also keeps talking about potential recession. I'd ideally like to rent it out or sell it in a year.
2. If I put 20% down, it will basically deplete my savings. Should I put less down even if it means I'll be paying more in the long run?

Context: I applied for a position a while back and got interviewed, but didn’t go to the next round. I found the same position open again a month later at a different location and applied. Almost immediately, I was called for an interview, but with the same interviewer. What does this mean? Is this going to get awkward?

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. Anyone else struggling with hormones / mood swings? I am almost 16 weeks and been having a real tough time lately, feeling really down and stressed about things. Pros and cons of moving to wealth management under someone like Morgan Stanley? Our combined income is around 400K but since we just began working post school, our savings are only $70K right now (also 30K in student loan debt). Beginning to invest. Which is better? Merrill edge or fidelity ? Have a BofA bank account and an employer Fidelity account for RSUs. Also have a TRoweprice 401k account from past employer.

Capital gains tax rate - I know there are diff rates (0/15/20) depending on income threshold but is the threshold based solely on “earned income” (i.e., wage)? For ex. if I quit my job and hv zero earned income and sell my stocks with 5M gain in the same yr, there would not be any capital gain tax?? It doesn’t seem right but is that the rule?
