I’m 28F. Is it ok to go 100% on FXAIX in my 401K then switch to TDF when I’m 50? Any thoughts?

I’m not sure why TDF, are you sure that’s the correct symbol? But it’s fine to be 100% FXAIX now.

Oops, it’s target date fund.

Sorry, I should have got that. Yes you can do straight sp500 and then move to tdf later. You could also just start with a tdf that is past your actual retirement date. Like if you will retire in 2050, get a 2070 TDF.

Personally, I stick with index funds as opposed to a target date fund because the ROIs on a lot of actively managed funds like target date funds don’t make up for the higher fees you have to pay on them.

I have done both and have had better performance from index funds overall when you factor in the fees.

I recently bought my 1st home in TX. I want to get into real estate and eventually own/rent out multiple homes. Are there any good recommendations/tips on books/articles/websites that others have used to get started?

I've read about HELOC and cash out refinance to get a 2nd home but articles are so scattered that it gets confusing which is better in terms of tax benefits and immediate costs, etc. Anything others have found helpful that summarized how to get started would be great!

New to US. Which brokers offer best margin accounts? For e.g. I have equities worth $100K and want to trade options. Is there a broker where I can do so without paying more in collateral money - essentially using stocks as collateral, and also not paying margin interest. Was able to do so in London, Hong Kong, and India. However, Robinhood here doesn’t seem to allow it.

Need advice. Have some credit card debt that I’ve been working to pay off. Have made progress but want to lower it quickly. We have dual income, with a house (~$300k in equity), 1 kid and 1 on the way. I’ve looked into debt consolidation via HELOC but also have ~$80k in vested equity in my company that I haven’t touched. Get equity refreshes every year. Would it be smarter to cash out $15k-$20k of that to pay debt vs. a HELOC at ~5% given that will still require mthly payments

I NEED HELP WITH CREDIT SCORE issues: Two months ago my credit score went down by 30 to 40 points due to dad missing credit card payment by a day (i got added to as authorized user on his credit card for me to build credit but now I’m filled with regret). I was devastated by it. This past month I have been making more payments and paid off my aug statement in full thinking it will boost my credit score. But I don’t know why it went down another 10 points. More below:

My dad stole my identity a couple
years back and tanked my credit score
- brought it down to like 400. I've
been working towards fixing it so that
my boyfriend and I can buy a house in
the next year or so. This morning, I
checked my score after not looking at
it for a while and I'm in the mid 600s!
Y'all don't know how happy I am
about this lol

I racked up about $20k in credit card debt due to a confluence of things happening at once (move, school expenses , etc ). I have a fair amount of paper assets but not a much free cash. Assets are down a decent amount with the current market cycle and I’d prefer not to sell them to cover the debt , although they easily could. Any suggestions how to handle the credit card debt without racking up tons of ongoing card interest?
