I believe the NRA is a highly respected training program for law enforcement officers who wish to become firearms instructors. The course covers a range of topics, including firearm safety, marksmanship, range management, and teaching techniques.
I completed the NRA instructor course (basic pistol) a few years back. It was useful, and the certification is good to have.
The NRA courses may not teach you anything you don't already know. But being an NRA-certified instructor is useful if you want to work for a range or if you want to be able to teach other people to get NRA certified. Of course, it's not cheap taking their classes and getting their certifications. I was exposed to this recently.
Most people say the program is and gives you "credentials".Once you get it, you can possibly work your way into teaching LEO. Most departments require some type of police certification.
