Hey Folks. I hope I am posting in the right space about this. Anyone knows the updated(2022) compensation range for QA Automation Engineers with 2 years experience?
A general range at Glassdoor has an average base pay at 110K/year shorturl.at/dhuIZ and I am looking for more sources. Cheers

This was literally me in my last job. It’s a tough spot because you really need to be mentored by someone with more experience but at the same time you are pulling above your weight and should definitely be compensated for it. Every time I asked for a raise I was shot down for “not having enough experience to warrant one” (not matter how much extra I did and how well I performed) but my old agency sucked 🙄 My best advice is to compare your salary to the rough industry standard for your role and take into account your years of experience. Then craft a compelling argument as to why you deserve a raise or promotion based on evidence/examples and make sure you have a percentage increase in mind. Once you feel solid and validated I your case, kindly request a phone/video conversation with whomever you report to or HR(?) and present your case (I would avoid handling over email). If it’s still a no, start looking for other positions and maybe you’ll be able to find a counter offer somewhere. Hoping you have better luck then I did!!!
Sorry to hear that. I work with an associate strategist who is in the similar situation. I’ve been talking to her manager when we are in our 1:1 that I absolutely think she deserves a promotion and a compensation. Was told that this just happened due to HR limiting promotion because of Covid. It’s so lame
Ah thank you, this is super helpful to hear!

That’s very unusual but it speaks highly of your potential that you’re succeeding in this unusual situation.
Everything is fucked right now with covid so go into your conversations with realistic expectations that your leaders may want to help you but can’t.
In the same boat tbh. On one hand you can look at it as them taking the training wheels off (how I’m choosing to look at my situation lol). On the other hand If you aren’t getting credit, opportunity to present or share your work than I’d worry about being taken advantage of. Take all of the experience in because no matter they promote you or you move on that experience is invaluable to someone and they will pay you what your worth.
Are you just doing the research (jr role) or crafting strategies w the findings (regular strategist’s role)?
You’re the strategist in the account.
Sounds like you just are not being mentored. Speak to your department head. If doesn’t change go somewhere that cares about your learning and growth
It be interesting to see what they define as Jr Strat, Strat, Sr Strat, etc. And have them plot those responsibilities against your existing one. Basically walk them to the realization.
