It’s a tougher environment now but try to get into financial due diligence. A lot more interesting than audit and you actually learn how businesses run and what buyers and sellers of companies care about. And a lot of skills you gained in audit carry over to FDD
Arguably less of a “people person” role tho since the interaction with the target is mostly remote and focused on a checklist of information requests. Would recommend Accounting Advisory over FDD if you want more client interaction and partnering. Done both and definitely got more exposure to people outside my immediate team in acc advisory.
Con is that it’s deeper into the technical side of accounting you don’t like. Guess my real recommendation would be FP&A in industry because you have to talk to all the business teams for budgeting and planning.
