At 72andSunny, primary caregivers receive six months of paid protected leave with an additional month of flex time prior to and post leave as well as six months of uninterrupted medical insurance.
Paid 12 months leave, and a flexible return to work policy offering 1day WFH for 12 months after returning.
Thanks all. So, currently 6 months paid is what best in class maternity leave looks like in advertising. And it seems like it is better in the tech world. We need to find a way to remove pregnancy bias and give moms better support. Any more suggestions on how to do this gratefully received.
12 weeks fully paid, protected leave with benefits. Option to go unpaid or use PTO for up to an additional 3 months. I took 6 months maternity twice during my 5 years at Huge and both times received a promotion shortly after my return. No longer there but will always be grateful for the full year I got to spend at home with my kids
Tech companies - especially the big ones like Netflix, Amazon, Google etc.
Might not be “this industry” but it’s certainly where a lot of the talent is going.
And dad's!! We need time to support our partners through this transition.
Not enough! Mother's need a minimum of 6 months in the US.
Canadian policy is the mother gets 12 months maternity leave with 75% of salary, father gets 5 weeks spread however he wants. I've never met anyone here who has ever complained about it.
👆🏼I do hope you mean parents and not just mothers... what about two father or two mother families? Would adoptions be included? The point of the leave shouldn’t be just medical recovery, but also parental bonding, IMO.
☝🏽 and your partners need you!
Not America
America, small agency (25 employees), ONE WEEK PAID. You can blame the agency partially, but there is no government support. Fortunately I could afford 4 months with the help of my partner’s income. So, so sad
Thanks everyone. It seems like agencies like 72 and Sunny are best in class. Does anyone else have any positive experiences?
Are you only focused on maternity leave? Or are you interested in parental leave policies?
Look at whatever is considered “best in the industry,” then best it
(Germany has 3 years btw)
Let’s stop talking about Moms only. What about equality for Dads, too? Gay Dads, Straight Dads, Single Dads.
16 weeks both maternity and paternity leave.
CEO I don’t know where you work or how big your budgets are but there are tons of talented people out of work right now who would happily freelance while somebody is on parental leave, especially if it’s for six months +. I know that costs you a little bit more, but if your agency operates anything like ours you’re already wasting too much money on redundant leadership positions, trips to Cannes etc
Agency leave is a joke compared to a lot of our clients. Hell, Microsoft just demanded that their VENDORS provide twelve weeks paid no questions asked.
