Looking for advice on certifications, which is better to take 1st, CFE or CFCS or CAMS?

Don’t bother on the CFCS. It’s a new certification and not widely known. CAMS has been around for much longer and is the golden standard now for AML certification.

like

CFE and CAMS certified here. Get the CFE first as it is pretty easy. Then get the CAMS. The CFCS is not needed.

Ok out of curiosity - I really want to know the other ETRADE person who keep liking my comments haha.

@Grant Thornton 1Thank you! Is there much difference between CFCS and CAMS?

like

Staff OP - I would say the CFE is more similar to the CFCS. CAMS is all BSA/AML and not necessarily fraud or other financial crimes.

I’m at a Fortune 500 company with an employee stock purchase plan but I’m unhappy with my salary and job title. I was offered an opportunity to make 30k more with the title I want with a smaller company doing the same role. I’m wondering if it’s the right career move to just jump ship…Any guidance is much appreciated.

Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

I’ve been with my company for 8+ yrs, I love my manager and the work I do (engagement, recognition, & wellness programs) but I feel like I’m limiting myself since I have the experience, an HRM degree, and SHRM-CP credentials.

Should I apply for roles outside the company?

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Anyone have general tips for this situation?

How does health insurance at MBB & T2 strategy consulting firms compare to Tricare Reserve Select for a family? I’m 99% getting out of the Reserve within the next year and, assuming things go well with recruiting, would switch to the firm insurance as my primary once I start. I’m hoping someone might have some ideas about this- I’m currently five years out of law school with a clerkship, a tax LLM, 3 years of experience doing transactional tax work and a few months of EC/VC experience (which I recently switched to from tax). I like the EC/VC work, but I don’t know how long I want to stay in biglaw. Can anyone weigh in on how employers for in-house roles might look at my experience in a year or two?

I’m so miserable every day is painful. I want to go tell pre-law school me it’s not worth the debt because you will hate this career and then feel trapped by the debt. I’ve had a lot of success making the idiots I’ve worked for wealthy, but I’m still waiting for a moment where I enjoy what I’m doing. I feel stuck working in dysfunctional plaintiff firms/cultures.
