Married 🐠 do y’all stop caring about your appearance as much after you tie the knot / get in a serious relationship? Genuinely curious...single here, I workout everyday and I’ll admit it’s not because I’m trying to lower my cholesterol or anything like that😂

Just saying from observation (I’m not married), but there’s a reason the phrase “dad-bod” exists lol 😂 I think it’s comfort weight

Plus old age and stress of work, kids and less free time to work out.

My wife was already way more attractive than me when we got married, and despite my best efforts the gap is widening. Staying in shape is the least I can do.

I still try to work out, but in terms of how I dress I care way less. Bought sweatpants for the first time last week. Wear bird dogs out and about.

I stopped working out for about 8 months after getting married. Then started back up with crossfit because I felt like crap and noticed how out of shape I was getting.
Fitness was a big part of my life before my relationship, so I’m glad I got it back!
If you do get married, just give yourself a break and don’t panic if your priorities shift a little bit.

I put on about 30 pounds but started to lose it. I’m now +20 vs when we met. It honestly just got away from me with school and finally eating 3 square meals a day.

Mmm I don’t care as much about what I look like around the house..crazy hair, hairy legs, oversized lounge clothes. But I definitely still like to look good in general and still workout 5x a week for my own self esteem

I keep myself fit. I like that my wife takes care of her appearances - regular mani pedi, wearing sexy outfits, heels, etc. I’d be disappointed if she didn’t make an effort.

How old are you? Talk to me when you are 30 with two little kids, 40 with teenagers and two crazy jobs.....

30 and having you young ones. What happened to all that time I used to have?

Define "working out." I married at 30, currently 47 and 2x bodyweight bench 3x deadlft. I was more ripped / skinnier at 30, but marriage has improved my fitness. Also shit ton of weekend yard work and remodeling.

Not me, been with the same girl over 10
Yrs, married for 4 of them. Gotta stay fit. It’s important to take pride in your appearance..for yourself and your partner. However, with covid and us both wfh... we def wear the same sweatpants for more days than we’re proud of haha

Just get Covid. I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks

So dependent on the person / relationship. I still workout every day but it is something That helps me personally vs. doing it for someone else. I also have friends where both partners stopped working out or both got in great shape. All about what you care about

Been with my GF since college and we recently hit the 4 year mark. 1-2 years into our relationship I found out she had instances of micro-cheating (flirting with guys, talking to ex’s etc - but nothing physical) and we addressed it. To her credit and my knowledge, she’s been apologetic and great at respecting boundaries since, but I still feel the pain from her actions years ago (and have talked to her about it). Feeling lost about whether to just leave or to try and work things out

Setting healthy boundaries with family is HARD. Specifically a family that suppresses emotions, gets defensive, won’t talk out conflict, tons of gaslighting.

It’s so hard to stay connected when I’m so misunderstood and disrespected constantly. It’s never huge, but a constant 3-4 out of 10 no matter the day. We never talk about anything.

I’m just so exhausted trying to make it work with them. I don’t have many friends (hey pandemic) and it’s so, so lonely.

Question: Girl friends parents finally came over for a ristha. Everything went great or so I thought but now she wants to time to think about moving forward. The pain point she brought up is that we are in different states and she is feeling pressed.
