Need help deciding if this offer is worth moving for. Received an offer from Booz Allen Hamilton for an Associate level Sr. Systems Engineer in Los Angeles for $135k base. I countered $150k and a $15k singing bonus and asked if I could be brought on as a lead associate since I've been a lead/manager for a while in my current company.
Current company TC: $125k in Utah.
YOE: 7 with M.S. and MBA
Is the switching cost/risk and higher COL worth it?

Are you trying to get into recruiting, or do you want to be a HR generalist? A lot of larger companies have separate recruiting - if you want to be in a generalist at any of these places, you might not need recruiting experience!
Full disclosure - I’m not a generalist or a recruiter! But I think being a specialist I’ve had exposed to both. So I’d say you can find a generalist job without the recruiting experience. If it’s not specifically what you’re interested in, don’t seek it out. You’ll come by it naturally in your generalist path. Just maybe target companies that have the two roles separate (or, if you do want the experience, go for a smaller firm that has a few people who do it all).
Are you open to external recruiting or internal only?
