Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

I did some pro bono work for a non profit law firm that advocates for underrepresented peoples. If I were as noble-minded as you I would physically buy them assets they couldn't otherwise justify allocating capital to on their own (buy recently refurbed computers to replace their 10 year old desktops). When you give a physical item to a company you guarantee that it is going to the cause that you intended it to go to, and not on some bs marketing line item.
Yeah, I would def rec a nonprofit over a govt agency. Maybe consider one dealing with Syrian refugees, like IRC, IMC or MSF. They can def use the help!
I would also recommend into looking into more local or community based options. Sometimes with those it's easier to see the impact or at least know where your money is going.
Thanks everyone for your valuable thoughts. Appreciate it!
If you want to donate to the Hillary campaign, please let me know and you can do so through my link. I saw that because that is where my bonus went for better or for worse. In all seriousness and as a nonprofit expert, I would recommend donating it to a smaller grassroots project where it will have a bigger impact. Maybe look up some of the nonprofits that United Way funds and give it to them. Happy to give further advice. All are great causes and can't go wrong and good for you!
Very noble thought. I'd go with option 1.
GiveDirectly
Option 1.
I vote for option 2. In US we don't really see the impact of Zica but if it spreads, it's gonna be a bigger global problem
Disclaimer - I have been donating 3 digit dollar amount to various earthquake relief funds over last several years and I'm also looking for some good projects where i can donate this year and see a good impact.
D1, for worse
Nonprofit, every time. You already give the government ~30% of your income. Nonprofit giving can be targeted. If you're giving more than $5,000 to a smaller organization, you can have somewhat of a say in what specific project your money goes to. Source: used to work in nonprofit.
Opt 2
Also, you can fund zika stuff, but through a nonprofit
2
Any update? It's ok if you don't want to share, but I really enjoy philanthropy
Will donate half and half to both options 1 & 2
Great cause OP, I'm planning to do the same
