I straight up told my Managing Director and General Manager that I'd be starting a group called "Meet All The Black People". They were on board because they know groups like this are important especially when it comes to retention and growth.
Hoping to have a meeting where we just have open dialogue about the fact we are a dying breed and microaggresion that exists
Also, do the afraid to be "the ethnic group." Sometimes job #1 is simple awareness... For us and them.
