PWC peeps... how important are snapshots for promotion. Mine are so all over the place from a partner giving me high praise but the next one a director saying at level. It's BS.

I wish snapshot works like uber ratings so staff can give a snapshot to Seniors and Managers!

like

It is all bs. Basically it's all good until they need to find a reason to get rid of you or pass you over for something.

like

Snapshots are subjective and total BS. For promotion, you just need to convince your RP that you're ready for promotion. If he/she is your side, the other partners/MDs in the CRT will almost always go along unless any other one of them has major objections.

like

Its total BS

like

And how do the snapshots results reviewed in light of cohorts. I almost wish they'd rate us in cohorts.. so at least it ties directly to salary

like

It's all about your RP! Develop that relationship and agree on a plan for you

Also depends if your RP is the most senior in your CRT or a low level partner.

What if he is a low level one?

We have two partners on my engagement, but only one is the lead Partner. My RP is the other one so I always try to keep a good relationship with both . I basically treat the other l e as if he was also my relationship partner. I don't set up official meetings with him to discuss my career but I always let him know what I'm up 2..

RP?

*passive oops

D1, RP stands for "Relationship Partner"

We used to have upward feedback forms but no one ever filled them out.

And, if your RP is low level, that means he doesn't have as much influence when it comes down to you or someone else for 1 rating / promotion / etc.

Do yourself a favor and make them not subjective. Quantify the monetary impact you had on your engagement, use that as your summary, and have one on one meeting before they review it. Makes the feedback more impactful for you and gives the reviewers better info for differentiators.

On my engagement we are losing 80 bucks an hour on me haha can't quantify the monetary impact for sure!

I'm new to EY and consulting in general. Does anyone know what is the average salary hike for promotion from Senior to Manager and for Seniors in non-promotion year?

Got a 30% salary bump, via an offer for Senior Consultant S&O from Deloitte. Currently underpaid at EY Advisory. I'm MBA and this year is my promotion year at EY for Manager. What to do? Get demoted and move to D? Or counter at EY? Even if EY matches my salary, and promote me to Manager, I will be an EY Manager with a Deloitte SC salary, and probably won't be able to go to D in the future. What do you think? I have built up a good relationship with my Partner and SMs at EY though.

I’m also interviewing for Senior consultant role also at Deloitte. How much would this typically pay?
Torn whether to stay within NHS as I will be getting an internal promotion or move to Deloitte.

I asked for a raise in April 2022 after three years with my company. Positive feedback since day one. Learned I was making less than peers at other asset managers in NYC with less experience (14 years). Latest conversation was with HR about how they calculate salaries. I’ve been asked to provide examples how my role has changed since I started to justify the increase. Is this normal? Or is this just their way of denying my request?

Should I have to constanly advocate for myself in order to ensure I'm receiving market comp? About 3 years ago I decided to test the job market and realized I was being paid 20% less than I could get elsewhere. When I told my boss I was quitting they secured me a 30% raise to keep me at the firm. Since then my raises have been pretty meager and looking around it seems like I could get a dramatic raise by leaving. Is this just how things are? How do you ensure you're fairly comped without hopping

An agency I freelance for wants to hire me full-time. They told me for a Sr Copywriter, 100-110k. I countered with 125-150.

I also said I'm interested in a higher-level title - I currently freelance as a Creative Director of Copy elsewhere (they don't have that title at this agency.)

They came back and said yes to the title and to 125, with a 6 month review that could raise it to 145.

Which is good for Sr Copy, but low for CD/ACD level. Don't want to screw myself over. What to say now?

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.
QUESTIONS:
Should this be in writing in the offer letter?
How detailed should it be? I assume I won't know what goals to set till I start...

Seeking advice: I am a young sales consultant and sales engineer working for a tech startup company. I have 6 years of sales experience. And I have been helping run my family business for the past 10 years. I was intially interviewed for a senior account executive position at a $70k offer. And no talks of a promotion / raise..

For anyone who receives a quarterly bonus or raise in some form, does your employer start to schedule you for less hours when your raise kicks in, or pull you from a future schedule entirely once you receive a bonus; only to put you back on once the hours you would have worked and earned the amount given are passed? Ie; a part time employee getting $200.00 in a quarterly bonus and then not being scheduled a whole week during a bi-weekly pay period where they would have earned more on the clock…?

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB.
