Do not take the fiber! How are you taking it? Powdered? I learned 10 years ago that I dont need a fiber supplement, it always made me super constipated, and now i just try to eat close to a Whole 30 diet, with some bread and sweets, and that works for my IBS.
I’m willing to try anything that has even a 1% chance of success at this point 😂
It sounds like a gut bacterial yeast build up - I’ve been suffering from IBS with severe flare ups for years when I found myself eating high fibre and lots of carbs (even good carbs). What I’ve had work: cut all carbs and sugar (that includes wheat, rice, potatoes, etc. ALL of it) and eat low carb veg and mainly protein for a month, it should start to force your gut to release the built up yeast. After the 30 days bring in a pre and pro biotic to rebuild GOOD gut bacteria. The only thing that makes this change difficult is - your body needs about that long (30 days) to process and get rid of the built up yeast bacteria, so if you slip up and have some sugar or bread on one of the days, you’ll begin feeding the yeast again which would set you back.
Anytime, I hope it gets better for you!

Have you ever tried an elimination diet? Celiac disease and food intolerances are often misdiagnosed as IBS
It was a process of eliminating through blood test for me before settling with IBS. Mostly high stress and sugar/glucose. Making me have IBS and bloating so like sweet potatoes after its all nice and caramelized so good but I pay the price... I started taking bean-o and and other enzyme products when I feel the foods gonna cause discomfort
Everlywell offers food sensitivity tests that you can purchase online. They send you the test, you provide the samples and mail it back. There might be something in your diet that contributes to this. I was eating eggs daily and come to find out I have an intolerance to both egg yolks and egg whites. It helps you figure out what to eliminate from your diet and then reintroduce to see how your body responds.
I was eating boiled eggs almost daily. It was a quick go-to for me and I honestly thought they were crazy when I read it. I did cut back though and now I drink proffee (coffee with a protein shake) and feel so much better during my day. I cut way back on caffeine too so I drink decaf coffee mixed with a cafe latte protein shake (it has caffeine in it). I’ve done whole 30 and other diets but switching to high protein, low carb (but not high fat - so not keto) really helped me a lot.
I started to take fiber, pro and prebotics .
I started to note what foods tend to make me feel different after 1hr from the meal.
I also recommend more water with the fiber. Lots lots more water as you balance your system out.
I personally need to take more fish oil and be more regular on my workout and stretches. I notice it's more manageable if I move and stretch and reduce stress. :)
Of course. Always start with removing stressful things from your life if possible.
Fermented food helps, I don’t do well with fiber either.
What form of fiber are you taking? It takes about 2 weeks for fiber to stop causing bloating and gas and start working its magic, and then you can build on that and increase the fiber. I highly recommend meta wafers - start with one half of one wafer twice per day. Once that is well tolerated, move to one wafer in the morning and one at night. If that steadies you, cool, if not, try moving up to two wafers in the morning and another half at night, etc.
Duly noted. Thank you!
