Receiving a bonus of about $16,500 and thinking about what to do with it. Suppose after taxes I’ll have about $12,000. I plan to use $2,000 for a vacation. That leaves me with about $10,000. My options for what to do with it are:

- Max out my IRA (would have about $4k left over to either pay down student loan debt or save)
- Pay down student loan debt (currently owe $64k with interest ranging between 3% and 6% - plan to pay off within 5 years)
- Put in a high yield savings account (4.6%)

I recently sign a lease. The apartment will put my security deposit into an interest-bearing account and requires me to fill out a form W9. I will join EY this June and just wondering if this is ok in terms of the independence rule. I guess the apartment will put my deposit in some sort of funds. Anyone with EY has experience? Reading the independence brochure, looks like it does not specify something related to this scenario but just wanted to confirm . TIA!

I'm thinking of selling my car & cash out some of my 401k to buy a house. My thought is to put down 3.5% for a FHA loan then make a big payment towards the principal to reduce long-term interest.
