Controller or Acctg Mgr in Industry: they would love you---your background and experience is stellar; & you are ready to leap.
We need more lilke you: industry is fast paced and always changing and wonderfully challenging (mostly personality-wise with all the characters you will interface with outside of accounting) and it taxes your brain and you'll get angry too,
BUT you will be helping a division or a company with hundreds or more employees stay afloat and keep their livelihoods.
You'll see everything. Insurance, Tax, month end, external audits, cash flow, AP, payroll, AR, Sales Revenue growth/ marketing, commissions, contracts, bids and proposals, 1-3-5 year strategic plans, fixed assets, fleet, capital expenditures, facilities/office/warehouses, systems conversions or upgrades, Mergers or Acq. even... after 2 years you can jump to a diff. industry; like agriculture, or tech or solar or chemicals or commodities or energy, or semi conductors or software or manufacturing or auto parts mfg, or defense contracting... that's the beauty a Controller Acctg Mgr can go anywhere in the world. It's all teh same once you get the confidence.
When you've learned everything you can (squeezed out all the knowledge at one place, including learning the ERP software) you move on, get a 10%+ bump in pay and end up at cfo..... $250-$400k
