S2 in LCOL city working for a regional firm, tier 1 performer from what I’ve been told my superiors. Mid-year salary bump gets me to $81,500 and a retention bonus of $6,000. I obviously don’t think the firm is trying to compete with the big4 after hearing what Deloitte and others are doing with their retention bonus, but does this seem extremely low to you all? Would be eligible for manager promotion in less than a year.

People who switched firms, what differences stood out to you? For me I went from PwC to Deloitte and now realize how good I had it with Google suite VS Skype and Outlook.

Is the CPA designation worth it? For me it would take me 1 year of PREP courses and 2 years of PEP until i can write the CFE. And I am 27 years old right now. Also wondering if it would be crazy to pursue the CPA while learning how to code to be a developer as well?
