So I’m getting chaptered out of the military for failure to have a FCP for my wife and I’m trying to transition from military to civilian with only 3 years of work experience, and my wife is pregnant and has epilepsy so really the only main thing I’m stressing about is transitioning my wife’s health insurance, she has tricare currently but Ik it goes away after being 6 months out. Any advice would be great!

Look into applying for ISP to ease some of the financial burden. It’ll usually come with an obliserve contract of 36 months of active reserve or IRR. Talk to your career counselor about it to get all the info. With being in active reserve, you should have access to tricare select which is more affordable than most of the healthcare plans in the civilian sect. Get as much info as possible from the TGPS training and start making a plan as soon as possible.

Also my wife being epileptic and me unable to make a FCP I don’t think reserves is an option because I’m unable to deploy without a FCP.

It might be different on the ARMY side but I had to figure all this out While being on a carrier with limited network access. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Have you considered another branch? Depending on u our RE code Uscg might take you. Most of us don't deploy so it's a non issue.
