If you start playing the money game (ROI) you’ll drive yourself crazy, if you’re family is going to be utilizing the facilities, dinners, drinks, cart fees, events, tournaments etc… the initiation and monthly fees will be the cheapest thing you spend there.
If it is something you are interested in I would highly recommend joining. I joined a club about 4 years ago and have developed some great friendships, as has my son with some of the other kids there. Life only gives you one ride, so take it for a spin!
5k initiation fee is a steal
The perspectives offered above are on point. $5k is pretty low for an initiation fee. $650/month is also very low if it includes your fees and food minimums. I belonged to a club when I lived out East and built some really strong friendships. I spend most of time in TX now and haven’t yet found the right club where I can get the same feeling. I’m assuming you can afford the cost, so if you like the course and the people you should join.
I joined on Wednesday but negotiated a waiver on the fees until the start of the new year. So base dues only until January
That’s great!
As much as you enjoy. It’s more about building your family’s place in the community than a pure golf ROI, no?
My club is $60k initiation, $14k dues per year and 4 year wait list. You are getting a deal if its a nice club
This seems really cheap to me lol
If your basing it off rounds played you’re probably better off at a public course. If you’re looking for a place to network and have a good environment for your family then I’d say that’s pretty low for a decent club. I have a cousin whose a member at Winged Foot, you can imagine what that costs
