anyone wearing nosepin while going office ?
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Anyone know if non-m cars have launch mode?
I had an interview with Cognizant and then got an email from HR to fill in CIS form and also along with to send all the documents. After i send all those details i got an email saying the position went on hold and to wait until they revert.
Any idea that how much time it would take for the position to be released? They did not respond when i asked the same question.

I just say I’m doing Keto, so no carbs, which I am. Or that I’m taking a break from alcohol for health reasons, which I am.
Suggest someplace where there something other than the booze to focus on, like ping pong, games, karaoke, etc. also helps for me to drink something that looks boozy but isn’t like Pellegrino and lime. Good luck I’ve been there and lived
Be slightly honest, “I’m not that much into drinking.” I’ve found that most people these days are respecting that. We get so caught up in the stigma of our addiction that we forget that people are generally moving to a healthier lifestyle to notice. And this was on a liquor account.
We only have today. So right. Thanks @SR
Three paths I’ve taken, all of which have their merits: 1) pivot to team lunch (or coffee if smaller group) 2) go, don’t drink and use an excuse ala sick/health/taking a break 3) go, don’t drink, and just tell em you don’t drink. If you’re not worried about drinking then just comes down to personal preference, who your coworkers are, and how much you want them to know about your “life.” You got this one.
When I attend these after work drinks and offered a drink I always say “not TODAY, thanks.”
Another alternative, and this is my personal preference, I break my anonymity with colleagues. It actually saved me one time when I nearly picked up a mimosa instead of an orange juice.
I don’t drink cuz I don’t like the taste of alcoholic drinks. Generally, I just tell people straight up and they respect it. My go to line is “realized I was drinking to be social and I hated the taste so, I just decided to not eat/drink things that are disgusting to me”.
Works every time
I’m not worried about my sobriety, more like how to handle this. I’ll probably call my sponsor, but does anyone have any advice for how to navigate?
I’ve discovered most people I work with don’t notice or care. The ones who do almost always seems to struggle w their own drinking
