How can I turn around a bad impression at work?
Hello friends, I am selected in Nagaro and offered workfrom anywhere location written in offer letter. Project is not finalized yet. Could you please tell will I be forced/need to visit office on regular/hybrid mode or I can permanantly work from my home town location for next few months/years. Biotech and Pharmaceutical industry…come join us! We’re always looking for marketers. DM me your resume. I’ve worked in this industry for over 10 years and you just need to be fearless. I didn’t have biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience. BUT I knew that marketing is transferable.
There are very few pharmacist or medical professionals in pharma these days, don't believe that you need medical background. There are more technical scientific and scientists, engineers and biochemical specialists in pharma, biotechnology.
Definitely move into tech if you want to break six figures. I personally jumped from $85k base to $115k base moving into tech. With bonus and RSU vesting I easily break $150k in TC.
RSUs are great. They essentially give you a bonus at the 1yr mark and then quarterly until they’re fully vested. A quick google search will explain how vesting works
I brake the $150k mark every year. I have no higher education. I work 12 hour shifts and have 14 days off a month. I do work a lot of extra shifts every year. If you want to make more you have to be willing to work for it.
I work in chemical manufacturing. And before that I worked in the oilfield and made about the same.
Maybe work for a different company?
I’m in the finance industry, within marketing, and got an offer for 80k, 10k sign on bonus and annual bonus is generally a target of 15% of salary, can go upwards to 30%
No mba, just bachelors in finance with personal marketing experience. I think it’s worthwhile to check out other jobs.
I’m in finance with no MBA at 145k base. I’d say move to an industry that pays more in general (tech, elite finance, medical) vs. being in an outsourced marketing firm
I’m in marketing for tech. Went from 50k to $120k by moving companies and negotiating. Most of the time to see a big leap in pay, you have to change companies. Even now at the company I am at, I know I’m not going to make much of a jump in pay increase due to budget so I’ll have to leave if I want more money.
You have to have nothing to lose, when you drop your number.
Get out of marketing, get into the tech product space stat to make over 6 figures.
Have you considered traveling as a project manager for a construction company? I’ve had offers up to $180k if I would travel m-th.
You are 27 - give yourself time! Also, I found that in many of my roles the only way to make big jumps was to move on. Every 3-5 years aim for a promotion, 5-6 years look for your next opportunity.
Depends on industry I’m in fed contracting and 5 year exp is junior and degree won’t count unless you can prove it relevant to career path with transcript breakout. Six figure comes with SR title needing 8 year min, law degree or contract cert.
