SHRM vs PHR is just do you wanna pay the money for the same thing. I see no point to having both, it’s just a money grab from those orgs. Having one shows you have the knowledge and I’d assume you could get the other if you chose which is enough.
Yes a lot of it is geographically motivated too so again doesn’t super matter!

A few more questions....how many years of experience do you have? Since you already have aPHR you might want to wait until you can qualify for the SPHR or SHRM-SCP. It just depends on what your overall goals are in getting the certification.

Which certification will help you the most in your career and also the direction you want to go on your career? I considered the PHR but then found a HRCI certification on DEI, which to me I would find more valuable for my career interests. So my advice would be pursuing the certification you find most valuable to your goals.
