Today I actually realised that, nobody actually likes a man who shares his emotions or "opens up". Literally nobody, parents, wife, colleagues, even friends.

A man is literally expected to be strong and take it all. Your importance lies in what you can do or what you can provide for them.

I too thought that maybe my parents are different, maybe my wife cares, and all this fuss in social media was a lie, but i was wrong.

In today's world, as a man, never open up about your vulnerabilities.

my sister died this morning. I posted about her in a past post. Alcohol addiction, liver failure and then it taxed the kidneys too much, she went into cardiac arrest at 9 am and they could not save her. She was 51. Sad day for sure. Trying to help my retired dad - When I google for what to do after retirement, only retirement planning related things shows up. My dad has been a workaholic and hasn’t developed many hobbies he could pursue. I was wondering how I could help him stay slightly occupied if not busy. Anyone here experienced this with your parents or yourself? How did you navigate this?

Trying to set family expectations and would love thoughts on 2 things. 1. How long after baby will I be ready for visitors beyond our parents? I’m thinking a few weeks. 2. Our 3 grandmothers are 1-3 hour flights away (3 diff places) and cannot travel. When will we be ready to take baby to see them? I’m thinking 4-6 months but that would also be flu/RSV season. Can’t predict the future but family is already talking about trips and I want to set expectations and do what is best for baby. TIA!!

SIL and BIL told us excitedly last weekend that she was pregnant (had literally just found out, so barely four weeks). This week she tells us she’s not pregnant anymore :(.
