So a week ago, I asked on this bowl why my application was showing under "Business Review" even though I hadn't had a single interview or call from Citi, today, they sent me an automated email saying thanks for interviewing but the role is no longer available? Has Citi confused me with someone else? So weird! And no way to contact anyone in the HR team....so maybe I'm just going to stop applying to Citi because clearly they are promoting internally and just opening up these jobs as a show 🤷♀️

You have very bad performance reviews, been kicked off multiple projects, put on a performance improvement plan, dont get raise more than inflation for consecutive years and or no bonuses etc
You could work for a certain employer that follows the MBM guiding principals which they will refer to every year when they tell you that you won’t be receiving a bonus or raise every year for the past three years.
Might be speaking from experience.

If they end up firing you, be sure to find a really good spot to hide a tuna sandwich somewhere in the office (if you’re going in) before you head out.

Woah okay Director Transformation 1, that’s a little too extreme even for me lmao

OP - Curious what was the outcome?
Unexpected resources are being brought onto your project to "help out" with the work you're assigned too.

Lots of detailed questions about your portfolio, asking to get copies of things you are working on. Increased micromanagement. Offers to review work. Treating you like your IQ dropped 15pts. Correcting things pedantically. Less talk about “next quarter.” Paradoxically, slower responses to communications you initiate.

Left out of critical meetings, everyone is short with you especially your manager, people stop talking about the future around you, you get a junior employee / peer to shadow you who asks a lot about how to do your job, they encourage you to take vacations
Ouch

Honestly, who cares? Key is to not rely solely on your W2 income and then you won't GAF. I have 4 income streams currently.
A2 more like “Honestly who cares? I grow all my food at four different locations so I am not dependent on RESTAURANTS”

If you’re being managed out by folks potentially acting in bad faith, document everything and walk out of that dumpster fire with a generous severance.
The job market is hot and a few lousy managers you may have at the moment could be inadvertently helping you score a payday.
How do you document and save these things? Especially the micro aggressions?
Polish up the resume in case. Was definitely on the list more than once in my career but somehow avoided the walk out. Be prepared for it. Know who your first couple of phone calls will be to - personal or professional. Take time to absorb it and have a plan to action

Documentation. Every managed exit is a potential lawsuit, they will document any issues in your performance to prevent this.
Build your network well. Keep in touch with your clients. Keep your skills updated. Take some classes on things you want to learn. Do not work 24/7. Invest in yourself on the weekends. Save a bunch of money and invest aggressively. Build passive incomes. Build/Invest (in) businesses. If you find a great opportunity, leave! If you live this way, you will actually never be fired and you don’t care. My others income is much more that my income and this very much possible.
