We have a wacko HR woman who feels compelled to place gender identifiers in her email signature she/her/hers. She clearly has a feminine name. Silly.

Why does this make her “wacko”

like

You know a lot of people do that these days. What’s it to you? How does that make her wacko? I don’t think this post will get you the reaction you want.

And this hurts you why?

If this is a practice that the firm wants to encourage, then HR is just doing what is expected. Why would that bother you?

I work part time for a startup for equity and am attending an event on behalf of the startup. I’ve only been here a few months and asked multiple times to have a prep meeting with my boss. I’m so incredibly stressed as I don’t want to show up unprepared and make myself look bad. Idk how to make light of this situation at this point

I’m beyond irritated by one of my coworkers. Just so disorganized, doesn’t show up to meetings, doesn’t reply to emails, constantly have to chase him, miss deadlines because of him. Management knows but does nothing about it. He really is a nice guy so it’s hard to hate him but I’m gonna lose it sooner or later. I’ve tried talking to him, I’ve tried escalating, putting reminders on his calendar. Nothing works. What are my options? Suck it up or leave? This is unnecessary stress for me

Has anyone dealt with a lack of praise from attorneys? I'm not someone who needs to hear "good job" all the time, but we just got a huge deal closed that I worked really hard on and had a lot of overtime. And once it closed, the lead attorney praised the other attorneys, and said nothing about me or my work. I might just be overly sensitive, but it kind of stung. Thoughts?

Currently a paralegal at a small start up financial services company been there for just a little over a year. I wear “multiple hats” but more recently I’ve done a lot of PM work and some BA work. My position title is changing soon but I’m wondering how helpful that would be for wanting to go into PM work at a tech company. Anyone have any career pivot advice? (Also I’m only 1.5yrs old in my career so I’m definitely still new, and I have previous experience as a project assistant).

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I recently left a large lawfirm to go in-house which came with a huge paycut that is not going to be sustainable long term, but needed a remote position to be able to move. I'd like to keep my current job part-time but get back in a lawfirm too.
