You could try joining one of the newer warehouse software companies who partner with companies and warehouses to get stuff moving. You can work from home probably. Stord is an example.
SC jobs are hard to come by if you dont have the requisite experience. However, keep applying, and don’t worry about salary when you’re trying to make a career change - compensation will increase over time but you need to get some entry level experience first. Keep trying and look at apics cpim certification if you can’t land anything after about a year or two of trying.
What's your skillset? Do you have any technical skills outside of ops management? If you have fundamental knowledge of planning and decent Excel skills you can pivot out of your warehouse role AFAIK.
Hi there. Experience is key for Supply Chain, Certificates, and degrees are good to get started but experience drives the rest.
instead of applying for anything and everything to get out - think about where you want to go, what about Supply Chain gains your interest and passion because you also run the risk currently of moving into a role you will potentially hate more! Good luck out there
Warehouse/inventory is the foundation of supply chain. You can walk into any interview with confidence that you have had direct supply chain experience. A degree in SCM may be worth the investment though.
Hmm. I think it really depends on your skill set and relevant experiences. There are a lot of exit opportunities that you can choose from if you have enough experience in this field.
