McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

It means you get ignored when you ask for status requests.
Almost always, analyst is junior to manager level.
Keep working hard and you'll be in senior.managenent in 15-20 yrs. C suite night be a long stretch, but not impossible.

Yeah, most people don't know this, but you can just drop by the Student Recruitment Director's office and ask them if you can have a C-suite rotation. If you're impressive, you may land it full time.

You're so angry, OP. Yikes. In any case, your post speaks for itself. 🙂
Entry level > C Suite …yes
PMO analyst = junior cat herder
A PMO analyst is the junior level role to the project manager. The analyst supports the manager in getting project status updates, tracking program progress over time, tracking KPIs, logging and escalating risks, issues and dependencies, developing project status reports and performing analysis on existing data points for progress.
The PMO and PM function are vital to keeping a project on track and going.
Sitting in the PMO office also gives you a cross sectional view into various business groups and their functions, allowing you to learn a great deal about different types of work, their significance to the organization and how the pieces fit (or don’t fit) together to have the organization run smoothly.
There is never a shortage of need for good PMs. PMO/PM is often the role that there is plenty of, but not enough enthusiastic takers. If you choose this role there will never be a shortage of opportunities. While you don’t need to make it your career path, understanding good project management is a great asset to have as you carve out your career path. Best of luck!
You could have just googled since that’s what I did “works under the PM” idk I’m guessing it’s like an assistant to a PM. Nobody could ever give you a clear path how to get to C-level, and you’re really jumping the gun with that question.
