Hey Fishes,
Require urgent suggestions
I will be joining Oracle Financial Services Software(OFSS) and I am worried about job security considering the layoffs that will be happening in Oracle as per below link:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.crn.com/news/cloud/oracle-considered-1b-in-cuts-thousands-of-layoffs-report&ved=2ahUKEwjv0Lyb3-34AhX29zgGHZGqBBYQ0PADKAB6BAgEEAE&usg=AOvVaw0c9Bz3n-mb4BhVdPKvIXnE
Require suggestions on whether it would be a wise call to move to OFSS now.

As a result of #metoo, it was revealed that now a lot of male supervisors and councillors are refusing to train/guide their female juniors. Most of them don't want the hassle of being accused of sexual harassment.
What are your thoughts on this?

Indian parents do more than average western parents:
1. Bear cost of education, unlike western parents who just ask their children to take debt
2. Bear cost of marriage
3. Bear the responsibility of children even after they are 18 years or older financially, and other ways
4. Bear the responsibility of grandchildren and act as nanny free of cost
I have not listed many other ways an Indian parent does way more than western parents. It is not just in India, but true for most Asian countries. In return they expect to be taken care of/ be involved in their children's lives. It is not too much to ask.
Having said that, marriage is a big decision and involves a lifetime of commitment from a couple. So, it is fair enough to ask parents to listen to your side of the story and not get offended. Both sides have to act maturely and patiently.
I married my lover after convincing my parents and after my wife convinced her parents, and we achieved that after a long 4 years of struggle. It was not worth it.
Actually, our parents were right. Her parents wanted to get her married to someone from the same.cast, as they themselves were conservative and still are. My parents wanted me to get married to a person not from her state as they are known for their rigidity and orthodox nature.
Again, they were right. We should not have married each other because our mindset and what we want from life is very different. You should never marry a person who culturally is very different from you. Upbringing makes a lot of impact on life.
Of course, out your thoughts clearly to your parents. But, understand what their restrictions are against someone, otherwise feel free to get stuck like me.
