Me too, kid

I know Liver King is out there but my roommate has been living by his “9 ancestral tenets” and it basically changed his life. Anyone else that follows something similar seen benefits? Seems like he’s rooted on well being and staying connected with the world around you. Even if you think he’s weird his YouTube video is well put together.

4 months paid for both moms and dads.
Jesus can we all just move to Sweden already?! So sad to see most of these answers
4 months maternity and paternity leave
Men and women don’t deserve the same leave. Our bodies have to fucking heal from 10 months of growing and birthing a baby. Get real.
I live in Sweden, though I’m not Swedish. Had my first child in my homeland (where I received 2 weeks leave) have had 2 more kids in Sweden, here’s the difference:
In Sweden, parents are entitled to 480 days of parent leave for each child. If you have twins you are entitled to an additional 180 days.
Parents are encouraged to split these days equally between them. If you do this, you will be entitled to an additional equality bonus.
However, it is possible for one parent to take up to 420 days of the 480 days. To do this the other parent has to ‘give these days’ to the other parent.
These days can also be ‘saved’, and taken out up to the child is 7 yrs old. They can also be taken out on weekends (to increase your income.)
The employer can not deny this, they don’t pay the employee either. They also must allow an employee to reduce working hours by 25% if requested...
There’s a tonne more detail but it’s been night and day for me.
Mine is one week after one year.
12 weeks paid
16 weeks for both parents
@Heat1 Yes, paternity leave should be mandated, but saying it’s gender discrimination misses the point. In addition to bonding with a new infant, new moms have to physically recover, and many times deal with complications, postpartum depression and a whole slew of other fun things. Men do need time to bond, but the majority of women end up doing all baby duty (even while working).
I’m not trying to lessen the significance of what women go through pre and post birth. And I don’t think by suggesting men should have equal time off diminishes what moms go through. I just think spending time with the family during this transition is more important than work. Dads should play a much larger supporting role than most Dads do and I don’t see that happening until they get a good chunk of time off. And sure...maybe not equal. But why the fuck not @account director 1 just because you physically require time to heal doesn’t mean I don’t deserve time to bond with my child.
Difference of opinion. Stating men should have equal rights to leave does, in fact, diminish the work that women’s bodies go through. When your boobs start leaking milk from a crying baby we can talk about ‘deserving equal’ to ‘bond. ‘ Until then, the priority should be on women’s maternity leave rights.
Your 6 weeks is also on top of full salary from short term disability (6 or 8 wks depending on delivery). If you’re in NY you get Paid Family Leave concurrently which will get you a couple more bucks for an additional two weeks of the 6 your company offers
Ansira just rolled out a 12 week program
I had 6 weeks paternity and am very grateful.
@ddb are u kidding? Jesus christ
☝️ 100% agree. Women need more. For the run-up to the delivery and for healing from the birth. But that doesnt mean men should only have a few weeks.
What should be a fair amount of time?
W:4 months M:3 months?
A new born child should get to bond with its parents. This is the most important job you'll ever have - so why can't the government push for what most countries in Europe are already doing? I love this country but it makes me feel uneasy about having kids in the future... :/
Every DAN agency in the US has the same policy, hence Isobar, 360i and Carat all above here having the same, def an enormous benefit. A colleague of mine just took 5 months by tacking 4 weeks of paid leave onto her mat leave too
16 weeks paid for moms and dads. Married or not. Adopted or biological. No tenure restriction
1 week paid. Disgraceful.
We actually just rolled out a new policy that provides equal benefits for moms and dads - 8 weeks 100% paid salary within 12-week FMLA eligibility period. PTO can be used for the remaining weeks.
