What's the most effective approach to address a partner who consistently makes unrealistic promises to clients, fails to deliver on them, and exhibits extreme laziness in their work as an attorney? Their tendency to miss deadlines and produce sloppy work is becoming increasingly problematic. I'm seeking advice on how to disassociate myself from this situation as I'm tired of constantly having to rectify their mistakes. I work at a midsize firm and 10 years out.

The struggle is real. I want no association with such incompetence. Funny thing is, this partner loves to talk big about being a litigator, but when push comes to shove, they couldn't handle a virtual hearing without needing another attorney to hold their hand. Pathetic. My heart truly goes out to the clients. If only I could shake them and scream, “Don't trust this clown show! Run!”

I work for a small firm (about 20 attorneys) and make 90k. I’m coming up for a raise discussion in a couple of months but don’t know how to go about it/what is reasonable to ask for. I bill about 35 hrs/week at 400/hr, so I think I deserve a bump, especially considering the posture of the market. Any advice/feedback from similarly situated associates or partners at similarly sized firms?
