Where are all of the old account people? Even the VP and SVP level account folks are in their 30s or early 40s from what I have seen. Everyone just leaves the industry after they reach a certain age? Tired of the BS of the job I suppose?

Many leave or go client-side after being pushed out of agencies. Ageism is alive and well.

The holding companies are calling the shots. To your point, get out before you’re early 40’s.

My client just offered me a job that pays 50k more per year and offers equity, stock, and bonuses on top of that. I suspect many people eventually take that bait.

I’ll tell you once I decide if I’m accepting it or not, haha

Either the move into C-suite or go to the client side. This is what I've seen happen

like

CEO or GTFO.

like

Yesss to GTFO!

A lot of the time more senior people will get offers for much more from the clients in smaller venues. Less stress, better pay, more time for family and life

They go client side

Ageism. Most have been pushed out, unless they're the few, politically-adept operators

By 40 you are tired of the BS and level of disrespect for the amount of money. I might not make it through the year without angry-quitting!

I am here!!! And I completely want back in . The BS that occurred in that industry, was/ is better than the BS and politics around other industries.

I've met people who wonder if they were simply "retired" after a round of layoffs

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project.
