Read First Round Capital's blog/subscribe to their newsletter. Excellent. It's all you need.

The Hard Thing About Hard Things by Ben Horowitz is great.

Blitzscaling is interesting. I dont agree with all of it.

Read Techcrunch, Term Seet, Quartz/CBInsights, Businessweek, Wired, Data Sheet (newsletter from Fortune) and subscribe to thought leadership from all the Valley firms.

Osana (osano?) has a really good privacy newsletter too.

Hi everyone. Hope you all are doing great. I am graduating from college with the Data Science degree in this September 2022. And, I am planning to take AWS Solution Architecture Certification with the hope of increasing my chance of getting employed. However, I am still not sure what the view of the tech industry to the AWS certification is. How much does this help me getting the job? Should I do something more to better myself? Thank you in advance!

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! Turns out the salary and benefits were meant as lowkey bribes to insure I worked at the company without actually doing any work. Every single suggestion I've made has been shut down and I've been ghosted for several meetings with the CEO. What should I do? Just leave?

Hi everybody! 😊
I've been working as a Junior Analog Design Engineer for a year and half.
I received a proposal for a Senior Analog Designer role from Bosch in the same city where I am currently working.
Should I wait and build up a few more years of experience before accepting a Senior role or should I jump in and work to fill the gap?
Next year, there will be an important deadline for the project I'm working on and my resignation could be critical for the team, how would you deal with it?

I’m a female attorney and there is a small, but significant, subset of male lawyers who think it is totally acceptable to interrupt me at hearings. There was one who, right after I told him I was still speaking and before I could continue, asked me if I was done. It happened again today where I was literally in the middle of a sentence and he just started his own and kept going. I didn’t allow it and repeatedly stated, “Steve, I’m still speaking,” until he stopped. However, I’m real sick of it.

‪There is an inherent humiliation in having to chase people down for work. It is one of the many things that I dislike about the billable hour model. It encourages overbilling, pits professionals against one another, and forces you to rely on superiors who like to hoard hours for themselves when work gets slow...
