It’s honest rewarding steady work . Even with all of the crises that have gone on in the past 15,20 or so years . In politics and companies shutting down . And Covid , healthcare never missed a beat and kept rolling and never stopped .
The main reason for me was job security. I know that I'll always have options for work. Also, the flexibility. I like being able to work a few 12-hour shifts in a row and then having a stretch of 6 days off. It's also a fulfilling career. Yes, it's stressful and annoying many days, but it gives me perspective and helps me feel more gratitude. How about you?
I like helping people and get great satisfaction knowing that I helped someone turn their lives around. I had an eating disorder as a teen so I remember how important it was to connect to my dietician once I was ready to change. That experience inspired me to go down this career path.
I'm currently in nursing school and I wanted to become a nurse since I was a child because of my mother. She enjoyed at she did so much. I would come to work with her and become friends with the patients.
I wanted to be a medical examiner/coroner when I was younger, and I found out I needed a medical doctorate for it. I also have a deep passion for technology. I started off as a housekeeper, then CNA, then RMA. I was hoping for tuition reimbursement and job security. My first job supported me but hired me as PRN despite working full time so I wasn’t eligible for any benefits, so I saved up enough to go to CNA program. The three places i worked didn’t cover my school for various reasons. Now, as an MA, almost all of my school for Computer Science is covered but im still drowning in debt from my MA program.
I used to love being in the medical field and helping people, but within the last few years (a little before covid started), people in general have been so disrespectful and entitled, and there is minimal support from management and higher ups that Ive started to loathe being in the field and regret not going for computer science from the beginning
Young and didn’t know what I want (still don’t 😂)
