It is because the popularity of gaming has increased. To be honest, there are game jobs that are fairly easy to get, while others can be quite difficult. You need to have an edge to get a job.
Companies want the best employees for the position. The industry is getting bigger and bigger. It is no surprise that the competition is tough.
The number of applicants in that industry has been increasing. The companies want to filter and hire only the best of the best. I think that's one of the reasons.
It is one of the most competitive industries right now. It is understandable if the hiring process is tough and competitive. Best of luck!
