I am looking for two new teachers (0-5 years) who would be interested in participating in a study I am doing as a Doctoral Candidate at Baylor. The study looks to understand the experiences women working in the field of education have had that triggered shame and explore their resilience. If you are interested, click the link below to get started: bit.ly/ShameResilienceStudy

don't think they are allowed to ask why you left but only can confirm you worked there and what you did.
Not unless you tell them.
But, if you’re not currently employed you might want an excuse why. COVID related layoffs are fairly common right now. No need to say fired IMHO
No

They shouldn't be able to get those details. By my advice is not the lie. Sometimes it's a very small world and people are able to figure out lies in ways that you never thought of. An of hand comment from a network buddy, a date that doesn't align with lay offs, a comment you yourself said at a different point in the interview, etc.
But while I advise against lying, I am not above getting crafty with your word...

Your prospective company can ask if you are eligible for rehire. If you were fired, the answer is no. If you were laid off, the answer yes. It is a minefield for companies to even respond that way to the questions so many won’t.
In general it varies state by state but most companies will stick to start/end date, job title and whether you left voluntarily (answered with a yes/no only) Note that is very ambiguous on purpose.
This list /might/ be different if you had fiduciary responsibilities or worked in an industry where your licenses are tied to a company.
Thanks all! I’ve been on the bench for a while, so I’m anticipating something. There are layoffs but due to bench time, I’m thinking there is a small chance for firing. Performance is strong otherwise
