What experience and education did you have before starting your first consulting job? Salary?

Need advice
Currently a y2 associate working in cloud Cybersecurity. I have an opportunity to transition out and into a private wealth firm and eventually become a financial advisor.
I would like to know what are realistic 5yr outlooks if I stay in Cyber, is manager possible?If so what would comp look like. Is 200k manager position realistic in 5yr?I feel as though transitioning to FA would be where I can reach 200k+ in 5yrs and have more freedom but just don’t know enough for outlook

Advice or venting: Signed an offer letter stating I’d get my sign on bonus day 1. Didn’t get it so payroll said wait until Wednesday. I didn’t make a big fuss but got my 1st week pay yesterday (fast I know) but my bonus wasn’t included in the pay. Payroll then says I have to wait until the 30th for the bonus & my recruiter said sorry but we use the same verbiage for all offer letters with candidates who get the sign on bonus. I’m disappointed & thought I’d have it before Christmas!

I have almost 2 YOE as a consultant right out of college. Was recently offered a position at a PE backed pharma company on their corp dev team as an analyst. Is 120k base + 20k bonus a good offer?

Hey, I recently got two job offers. I know my end goal is more strategy focused role , maybe some quantitative aspects probably in real estate or tech. My first offer is in Deloitte GPS Advisory as an Analyst, total comp is 95k. My other offer is for BTS (boutique consulting firm) in strategy execution with total comp being from 88-93k. If I stay with BTS, I’ll save a lot of money longer term. Which would you recommend? Is boutique strategy a bad place to start compared to big 4 advisory?

Average total comp including all the benefits they have there for senior consultants in Brussels?

Does anyone work or worked at Paylocity? I was given an offer as Payroll Implementation specialist and was also told about a “nice” bump on your salary after completing a certification once you are 6 months on the job. Wanted to know how “nice” is the bump?

Maybe I’m missing something, but even with a median comp out of HBS (top choice, ~$200k total comp), the payback period seems long and IRR seems low.

Totally understand that each person’s situation is unique, but it seems to make sense for people 1) with lower comp, 2) MBA scholarship or 3) desperate need of career pivot.

Any insight is greatly appreciated 🫡

Need some advice please. I have been offered a good salary and role at a t2 firm. I am also quite deep into the process at another t2 firm.

Should I tell the one I have the offer about the one I’m still interviewing for and vice versa to leverage a better package / expedite the interview process? Or is this viewed negatively and could piss both off?

Would you accept a job offer which intakes a lower position (from SA to Associate) but with a well rounded increase in salary? For context: KPMG -> Deloitte / South Europe -> North Europe. Current salary 37k + Bonus -> around 55-60k + bonus (new possible salary).

Right now in a more deal driven line of service, I would move to a more operational driven line of service.

I was just promoted from M1 to SM1 during the year end cycle. I’m curious what to expect and am hopeful that my promotion doesn’t wash out my merit increase.

I’m currently at 135+20% with one year of advisory experience. I’m hopeful bonus is closer to 30-40% this year given my YE performance review.

Consultant here with 2 yoe. I’ve done external and internal consulting. What would be a good yearly compensation to ask for if looking for another consulting job? Currently at 87. NYC/NJ area.

I’ve received two verbal offers with compensation figures but neither firms have given me them in writing after 2-3 days from the verbal offers. Is that normal?
