Can you recover from accepting a bad role at a good company? Trying not to beat myself up for accepting this role. Can’t decide if I want to wait it out a year, ask for my old job back, or just keep applying (from a resume, bridges, and comp perspective). All the talk of freezes and slowdowns have me depressed

Getting an offer this week. What are some things I can negotiate? Top of mind: signing bonus, base salary, guaranteed bonus, length of guaranteed bonus, PTO days, how about benefits?

Hi all,
I recently started in world of environmental consulting and got a job with this company with batch of graduates. Initially, we were made promises of pay rise at 6 and 12 month mark (we're earning equal to minimum wage, not competitive salary), but upon joining the permanent team, all of this changed. No pay rise, even though other grads who joined in the same batch but in other teams got 10-12% rise. In this economy, should a person stick around or look for other jobs?

What’s a decent salary to lead a good life in California, considering rent etc. I know sky is the limit but would love to hear some realistic answers.

I left company X in August and the debt team was supposed to reach out to collect back my sign on bonus. I didn’t reach out to them of-course, but it’s been 4 months. Do you think they overlooked it and I’m in the clear from paying it back?

Joined this company earlier in the year (months before cut off to qualified) and was surprised to see my bonus being prorated. Obviously, my goals were not and got 'meet expectations'.

I've never seen that in 10+ working for 5 different companies. Either you fully qualify, or you don't. Nothing in-between.

A&M folks, I read that your bonus typically makes up 50% of your comp based on business and utilization. What does that bonus look like for average performers who have 100% utilization last year or two?

Have been with Deloitte for about 2 years (plus 3 years prior in industry). Looking to stay in Consulting but want to jump.

I am only making $75k as part of a Deloitte model called US Delivery Center (essentially a regular consultant but minus the travel). I am happy to travel and all. Just feel like I could be making much more than my current salary. Background/focus is in workforce and organizational transformation.

Would you accept a title loss to move from T2 to MBB? Really good impression from practice and partners, however would bump from Manager to Senior Consultant level.

Up for promo ~12 months post joining, with initial hit in comp being mitigated with signing bonus. Would be a bump as soon as promo goes through.

However would mean ~1yoe seniority loss (although quite early in career)

I have 3.5 yrs experience in IT project management, and I am interested in consulting. Based on compensation rates, I am open to entry-level (associate) positions at MBB firms. Is it a better idea to apply to entry-level positions now, apply as an EH to a Big4, or wait a few months to have the strongest application? I am looking at generalist consulting, not tech/IT specific.

Interviewing at PwC. Is it normal for a SA role (internal services) to have a salary of 70-75k?

Hi All, I am currently working in IT services based out of Canada as a director with a base salary of $190K. I got an offer from IBM Consulting Canada to join their Hybrid Cloud Computing Group as an Associate Partner - Multicloud in the Financial Services Sector. IBM Consulting offers a base salary of 240K CAD plus bonuses and benefits. Is this a good offer? Any feedback on the work culture at IBM Consulting Canada, particularly in their cloud unit?

Make 115k TC at 3YOE in risk/PMO, dislike consulting and don’t see much future there anymore currently.
SWE seems to fit the lifestyle / work style that I aim for more. Would it be silly to do a bootcamp and potentially take a short-term reduction on TC or should I look for PMO / business adjacent roles in industry and keep increasing comp that way? All advice appreciated, thank you
