New welcome offer for Amex plat with 100,000 MR on 5K first 6 months compared to CSR 50,000 UR on 4k first 3 months. Is this a no brainer here? Currently have the Amex Hilton and Discover it. Main spending will be groceries, gas, and personal travel. Thoughts?

Looking for a new card to expand credit limit and perks. Currently have Amex HH and Discover it card from college. I stay at Hilton 1-2 times a week for work since I drive so much. The Costco Visa is tempting but wanted a few more options. Fly ~5-10 a year for personal trips and don't have an allegiance to a specific airline (typically whichever is cheapest besides Frontier). Any suggestions are welcome

My fellow road warrior 🐠, I have 110K Hilton points and want to open Hilton honors card ($95 annual fee) that will get me to 250K points (once I spend $2K in first 3 months). Already have 6-7 credit cards and no outstanding balances. Doing it to book hotel travel with family later this year. Is it worth it to pay $100/year? What will 250K get me? TIA

Just got free weekend night reward from Hilton for spending so much $$ on my Amex HH card. Haven’t looked into details yet, but anyone have difficulty using this (calling and booking the room)? Are certain brands excluded? Is it easy to combine with another booking/to include on a vacation?

Just got an email that my miles from Hilton are going to expire. Of course it’s because of the pandemic. Any recommendations about small things to reset the clock in addition to stay a night somewhere?

When you get a rental car, what do you do to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of for some bogus issue/scratch that’s already on the car? Take pic/video before, tell the checkout person of any issues (although this can be hard especially if at a smaller airport & you get the keys in the airport and there’s no gate when you leave), buy the rental insurance? If you have a card that covers rental cars (CSR, Amex Hilton) do you decline rental insurance and use the card benefits?

I had 60 day late payment of 35 bucks in Jan. It was new Amex Hilton card I opened for stupid points. It was reported and my credit score had been consistently dropping from last 6 months. It was 780 and now is 735. I realized this 3 months and been paying my credit card bills immediately. Infact I have overpaid each card to have negative balance so my credit utilization is almost zero. What else I can do to repair the damage. I am applying for homeloan and this is big issue to get best rate

When buying United tickets through the Chase portal, would I be able to add my united rewards number so the flight shows up on my app? Or is that not possible since chase books through Expedia?? Would it be better to transfer the points to United and book through United? I hate it when I make a reservation and I have a third party confirmation instead of the hotel/flights confirmation. Same Q but for booking a Hilton hotel.

Anyone signed up or bought Hilton Grand Vacation Resort timeshare ? Any thoughts or input ? The numbers they pitched seemed great but once I took a step back and did my calculations it turned out to be not the greatest “in my prospective”, also did some reading on the reviews and the are mixed. Context is, I am the highest you can get on Marriott and have not been impressed. I’ve switched ambassadors and still don’t find them worthwhile vs. personal research. Just used the last of my points at a resort for 2 weeks, and it didn’t feel like they even got the basics right. All in all, interested in a change when we go back to traveling.

At 3 YOE and want to exit, but a lot of companies in the DC area (Hilton/Marriott, Capital One, Fannie Mae) have hiring freezes. Thoughts on waiting a year to ride out the pandemic and trying to make manager before exiting?

Does anyone have creative ways that they are capitalizing on outside sales perks such as: mileage, hotel points, credit card points, etc.? So far my solutions are high mpg vehicle to maximize profit on the 57 cent per mile standard and the American Express Hilton Honors credit card to gain points after the company reimbursement.

Planning a destination wedding near Hilton H ead Island, SC. The actual venue I’d like the ceremony and reception to be at is about 45 min - 1 hour away from the actual hotels and beaches of Hilton Head. If we arranged and paid for transportation, would you as a guest be annoyed with the travel time? I think it could essentially be an extension of the wedding?

For those golfers out there - any good recs for a nice 3-4 day vacation spot? Looking for a good mix of golf and other things to do for the ladies in our group. We typically have gone to Cabo and Hilton Head, but looking for any recs on other options that might fit this bill. Thanks in advance!
