Spent 10y in Big 4 mainly in US and Europe. Interviewing for Associate Partner position with an MBB in SE Asia. Would a ~5y stint in the region be an asset if I wanted to return back to US but remain with the hiring firm? Or is it a rabbit hole?

Interview question. I am currently in the process of interviewing for a senior position at an upper mid level firm.

I have reached the partner level of the interview process but am still nervous. Is it unusual to reach all the way up to the partner and not get offered the position?

Had an interview a couple hours ago and one of the questions was to talk about some other similar partner companies I've worked with and I completely blanked and only talked about one (although it was a significant one). Should I throw in names of some of the other companies when I send my thank you or just let it go? He didn't seem to keep pushing the question so I'm assuming my answer covered it. But probably would've been helpful to include more names for variety.

Any advice on how to prepare for an informal interview chat with a partner in big law who is in charge of student recruitment? Im outside of the normal hiring period but was told by some that firms can hire outside of the recruitment cycle on a case by case basis

I’m interviewing for a Manager position with Guidehouse. All I know is that it will be a 45mn panel with a Partner, Director, and Associate Director. Any insight would be appreciated.

How do you handle an awkward interview when the partner doesn't sound interested and has questioned your credentials or skillset for the position? I'm not sure if it's a interview tactic or if we're just not geling well over a video call. Interview was scheduled for 45 mins- he had 15 mins of ?s and I had 15 mins of ?s and ended it. I felt discouraged 10 mins into it when he asked whether I knew about the role and why the hiring manager passed me to him given my background and experiences. 🤷

I plan on applying to accounting PhD programs later this year and every program requires letters of recommendation. I would love to get a letter from a partner at the firm I currently work at but I’m not sure how to go about it. If I ask for a letter they’ll know I have intentions of leaving but I plan on staying with the firm until I start the program which will be fall of 2021, almost a year after I ask for a letter. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about it?

Does anyone have experience doing a “Situational experience” interview with McKinsey? It’s for an expert role and the interviewer is a partner (final round). This is in addition to the case interviews.

For VC recruiting, is it best to go through HHs, or try to work my network? And when reaching out to network is it better to aim for informational interviews with associate level folks or VP/partner where possible?

Im currently second guessing my decision. I am interested in interviewing with my audit client (no guarantee of job) and informed my audit partner. I had my access removed from the engagement and am pretty nervous on what could happen if things don’t work out. Anyone dealt with this in the past in terms of going to work for their audit client?

Had a networking call with a partner that said they won’t be interviewing until 2021 for lateral hires. Friend said that’s not entirely true, and to try networking with others in that same office. Partners, have you ever been recruited by a client and turn it down? If so, were there any repercussions? I am one year from partner and being recruited by a client...looking like they will move quickly on an offer after initial interviews and I’m worried that if I turn it down it’ll be tough to sell back to that client.

Just got an interview for a SI Alliance role for SW I work on. $185k base 30% bonus. More risk; less stability and guaranteed growth. It’s a insurance Policy admin.

I’m applying for a job that requires a writing sample. I would like to submit a sample that was filed and used in a case. The problem is, all of the samples I can submit also include a partner in the signature block and were reviewed before filing. Any tips on writing a cover letter explaining that, aside from minor revisions by the partner, the writing is my own?
