If I have 4.5 YOE & applying to McKinsey, can I still apply for the “Senior Analyst” position, given the bar may be lower than the MBA level? Or at that point, do I have to be in the MBA-level pool? TIA!

I'm Snr Lead Recruiter with a US staffing company and looking to transition my career into the role of a Business Analyst. I have a PG Diploma from Great Lakes in Business Analytics and Business Intelligence. Would appreciate any leads.

Trying to take years of management experience as well as a background in finance to transition into a a possible Business Analyst role after getting my Bachelor’s in IT Management.

Any advice on how to navigate to a new role while still using my years of experience to my benefit to not start as an entry level associate?

Admist the pandemic, I moved from an ad /media agency as data analyst (with 3.5 YoE) to a big fitness tech company in a non media team. However due to lack of industry knowledge, I had to settle for the same level instead of getting the senior level role. Now that I'm in this team for over 6 months I've learnt a lot. I want to ask for a performance evaluation and possibly a promotion. Can someone help me understand how much hike% I can expect in this situation provided my manager agrees? Thanks!

I recently interviewed at Facebook for IAM analyst position. The interview went very well and I was able to answer all questions and have hands on experience in everything I explained. If I did a PT mba in finance (at a top school like booth or kellogg) and network myself into IB. Would I be considered for investment banking analyst role? I don’t have any finance experience been working in tech side of consulting. I know MBAs usually come out as associate but since i have no experience I’m not sure. curious as to what you all think.

Has anyone had experience going from audit senior to a financial analyst type role? Been in audit for 3 years. I think I know I don’t want to be an accounting manager or controller. Glad I have the opportunity to learn in my current role but trying to think about next steps in my career.

What’s the best way to show recruiters SQL skill set when trying to pivot to business analyst role ? Is there a respected SQL Certification I can get? Plan to also start learning python but seems sql is simple in demand skill I can showcase now. Thanks!

Currently working at wipro as an associate analyst level for the last 24months and additionally leading a team as acting TL.
It’s been 6 months and I haven’t been promoted for the TL position.

Mentally exhausted in this career. Don’t always mind the hours but don’t find it fulfilling. I think tech is more interesting and operational. Offered an analyst role at 140k base/bonus (not including equity but not public so not factoring that in). It’s not my ideal company because it doesn’t seem like growth is exponential but people seem nice and role seems better than consulting - gotta start somewhere? Only done a few interviews so far though. Is it better to wait? Have <2 YOE.

I have worked in RE brokerage for ~3yrs. I was offered a role as a senior analyst at a smaller RE PE shop in DC ($125k all-in). Is this salary low? Also, will going to a smaller shop hurt my chances if I eventually want to work at a bigger PE firm?

Analyst at Accenture, offered a position in the Identity & Access Management space with a small consulting company. I will be taking a pay cut but will get good work life balance & the option to work in a different state while living with my life partner. More over I will get a sense of direction in my career cause I'm already 29 and I will still be a generalist by the time I'm 30. I'm not too keen on what I'm doing at Accenture at the moment anyway. I’m an experienced PM and App Support analyst who has led major ERP implementations, Also very closely with IT ops, data teams and service delivery. I have a MIS degree very geared towards consulting, along with my PMP and other relevant certs. I am trying to transition over as a Digital Transformation or Tech Strategy Consultant at the big 4. Can anyone advise of how I can better position myself?

Any advice on how to succeed when being pulled into a very messy project? So far it has had very high turnover, is understaffed, and I’ve even been told by some that they would quit if they had to work on my work stream. I’m a SC but seems like I’ll somewhat be operating at a manager level role while also being expected to do the more detailed analyst level work (which is a lot). Not feeling great about inheriting a messy project that is super far behind, & I’m also pretty new to the firm

I recently applied to McKinsey for the Associate Supply Chain role. I made it far but not far enough. What would be the BCG and Bain equivalents to that role? I would be a lateral from industry so I’m not clear on the Consultant to Associate to Analyst relationships.

If I go for a non-supply chain role, should I emphasize my general business acumen or are BCG/Bain still interested in supply chain experts and they just don’t recruit specifically like Mck?
