Just applied for a financial analyst position and they have asked me to prepare a top line P&L along with a flux analysis of CY vs PY and CY vs Budget, which is straightforward and I actually think is fun! However, this is my first interview outside of public accounting, is it common to have to put together work before an interview?

When I spoke to the recruiter, she said she would consider me for a Consultant role (which is the same level as my current level at Accenture, at KPMG they start at consultant, at Accenture we start as analyst). At what age does the jump to PE stop making sense? I.e., if you’re a manager at your consulting firm (4-6 yrs in) and you switch to PE are you usually starting at the same analyst position that you would have started at if you left 1-2 years in?

I'd like some opinions on this job offer I got.

I currently work at Deloitte ( Risk Consultant) and my gross annual salary is 21k. We didn't receive the expected 10% increase in the salary because of the covid situation.

I just got a offer from a small bank for a risk analyst position and with a 28k salary.

( The tax in my country is 30%)

Do you think it's worth me staying at Deloitte since it's a Big4 or jump into the client, which is a rather unknown bank?

Currently I am in to PMO(Business Analyst)role for more than 4 years with total work experience of around 10 years
I am looking out for change

I’m a Senior Analyst (S&C @ ACN) and just got an offer by a high growth eCommerce start up for a Manager position. Do you think it’s worth the change for a better company culture/ WLB, management title, and 15-25% raise? I’ve been at ACN for almost 2 yrs and have heard promotion to Consultant is only about 10% raise.

Anyone know of stories where ppl exited to the fashion industry, in particular luxury fashion? Ie a corporate dev role or financial analyst role at LVMH, etc. wondering if this is sth consulting exit ops offer, or should I aim to go to business schools that target these companies (HEC, ESSEC etc)? A recruiter reached out out of the blue regarding an analyst position with the Orpheus team. After reading about Orpheus, I realized it’s a specialist group. I talked to a few recruiters about how I want to leave for a financial analyst position and all of them tell me that it’s not likely and that it’s a two step process to get there. They have said I should go with senior accounting roles and then transition after... however that doesn’t seem very convincing to me and I would rather make the move now while I’m still early in my career (first year audit senior). Would appreciate any experiences or advice 😁

I’ve been working at Deloitte (federal) for 4 months now at the analyst level doing the typical analyst work, like building decks. The original company I wanted to work for had to rescind my offer back in March due to COVID. They’re hiring again and want me to join. It’s a boutique consulting firm, I’ll be apart of the cyber risk team. Which was what I originally wanted to do.

Thoughts on Solution Delivery Analyst role at BCG? Hate my job at D but due to visa issues I have limited opportunities. Is this a role worth jumping into?

Has anyone made a switch out of accounting and more info with an FPA (financial analyst) or operations role? I would imagine it can’t be too hard to leverage an accounting background to do this. I never want to deal with SOX controls again, and continue getting stuck on awful projects within Deloitte advisory. Feeling silo’d and looking for an out. Away from accounting and into FPA or Operations.

Considering pivoting into a local MM IB. As my title suggests, my technical skills aren’t as honed as one who has focused on the analysis route. How much of being an Analyst at a smaller IB is technical skill heavy coming into the role? I hold my 7, 66, 24, and am not worried about getting the 79. Any input for how realistic this is? When looking at one particular firm’s career page it doesn’t mention technical skills or modeling once, which led me to believe it may be less important than soft.
